WHO has recommended 10 core life skills which are essential for a person's personal growth and development namely:
- Self-awareness
- Empathy
- Critical thinking
- Creative thinking
- Decision making
- Problem Solving
- Effective communication
- Interpersonal relationship
- Coping with stress
- Coping with emotions
The goal of this training programme on life skill education is to arm with the knowledge and tools people need to lead fulfilling lives. Life skills are the aptitudes that support young people's mental health and competence as they deal with the realities of life. It encourages young people to act in a way that protects them, promotes their health, and fosters meaningful social connections. A person's ability to function effectively as a social being is facilitated by their full and integrated growth in life skills.
This training programme will cover the 10 core life skills along with it's application in day to life. It will help find fresh approaches to problem-solving and thinking. It will Increase one's speaking confidence and capacity for teamwork and cooperation.
It will educate a person to accept responsibility for their actions rather than blaming others by helping them understand the effects of their actions and in turn increase one's awareness of one's self and appreciation for others.
